Emma studied Textiles at The Glasgow School of Art. Since graduating she has worked as a textile artist and art facilitator, with an interest in how the process of shared making can positively impact social development in young people and communities. Emma completed a two year placement as Artist in Residence at the Edinburgh Montessori Arts School in May 2023, and is currently studying for an MSc in Art Psychotherapy at Queen Margaret University. For Bard’s first exhibition The Grit and The Glamour, Emma collaborated with photographer Alice Meikle (also found within the Bard family as Touch Knit) to host a creative workshop with a group of young friends on Blackford Hill. The results of the workshop are captured by Alice and some of the children involved, in a photographic series called Flight.
