Jennifer Kent is a dynamic force in the contemporary Scottish textile industry. After graduating with distinction from Glasgow School of Art in textile design and textile as fashion, she focused on knitwear, gaining industry experience at Alexander McQueen and Lyle & Scott. A spell working with a factory in Hawick on a collaboration with Comme des Garçons piqued her interest in the potential for combining heritage skills and cultural stories, designing quality knitwear made in Scotland for a contemporary market. Her eponymous menswear brand was born soon after, quickly garnering attention, fans and accolades in Scotland and beyond. Designing and manufacturing in Scotland is at the core of Jennifer’s brand. Beyond knitwear and accessories, she enjoys using craft to tell stories about people, place and time in special projects, limited editions and collaborations too.
