A family run business founded in 1968, based in Braemar in the Cairngorms, overseen today by Gareth Mclean. From his workshop and store Gareth designs and manufactures horn-based products that range from spectacular, over-sized hanging installations down to smaller everyday goods such as cups, combs and cutlery. Across the road in the Fyfe Arms hotel, you can see one of Gareth’s suspended installations. All Mclean products are made and finished by hand from red and roe deer antlers responsibly sourced, bought and, in some cases, collected from local Cairngorm estates.

What does Scottishness mean to you?
Scottishness is resplendent tartans, the skirl of the pipes, dramatic mountains and glens, amazing cityscapes and enjoying a dram at the end of the day. It is sharing this diverse culture with the diverse cultures that populate Scotland.
