Ghost Rope Hanging
A Frayed Knot£3,000.00
Description
We spotted this majestic beast hanging up outside Mark Cook’s garage when we visited his home on Orkney in the summer. It is knotted and woven using old fishing rope collected from nearby beaches and donated by local fishermen. Today, it hangs in our stairwell at Bard, casting ghostly shadows as the sun passes overhead. It is a calm yet powerful piece of contemporary folk art, and serves as a poetic reminder of the plight of plastic in our seas.
Hanging: 150 x 223 cm, Pole: 180 cm
