“I have been increasingly interested in wall pieces. These pieces are the result of around two years’ worth of experiments into how glass moves under its own momentum in the kiln. The material is in charge and I have relinquished control. I am intrigued by the tactile qualities, the fluidity and the softness. I’m not interfering with the material – I am allowing it to reveal its natural state. I’ve worked with a jeweller to create a precious metal pin for the fixture, and I love how it appears to gently push into the material. I work at an intimate, handheld scale. I love seeing people reach out and touch these pieces impulsively.” Andrea Walsh
